Today in class:

-- Please work silently and independently throughout the hour.

-- We will study the new Midterm Exam Study Guide on Quizlet for the first 10 minutes of class. 

-- Today's assignment must be handwritten on paper. Using the material we have studied this semester, please make up and write down 20 of your own fill-in the blank questions.  Number them 1 through 20. Then add 5 bonus questions, based on the research assignments we have done this semester. Number them 21 through 25. Be sure to include both the question and answer for all questions.

-- Today's assignment is due at the end of the hour, before leaving class today. Not turning it in before leaving will result in a grade of zero.

-- Once you have completed and turned in today's assignment, please study the Midterm Exam Study Guide on Quizlet for the remainder of the hour. The midterm exam will cover material from the beginning of this calendar year, and there will be a hands-on portion of the exam.

-- We will study vocabulary on Quizlet for the first ten minutes of class.

-- We will discuss the upcoming midterm exams, next Thursday and Friday, March 8-9. Odd hour tests will be on Thursday, and even hour tests will be on Friday. The test will be worth 20% of the nine weeks grade.

-- Then we will discuss sorting in Excel. Third hour did hands-on work with this yesterday. Fourth hour will do hands-on work with this today.

-- Then we will dicuss linking data in Excel, beginning by watching the following video:

In class, we will:

-- Take a vocabulary test on Excel functions. (POSTPONED until Wednesday.)

-- Review our new vocabulary. Write the new vocabulary words and turn in for a grade. Written vocabulary must be turned in before leaving class today. There are 25 terms, most relatively brief.

-- After writing and turning in vocabulary, you may use the rest of the hour to study vocabulary on Quizlet silently. If there is talking, there will be an additional assignment. It will be homework to be turned in at the beginning of the hour tomorrow.

-- Tomorrow, we will watch the following two videos on formatting in Excel:





Then we will do some hands-on practice formatting in Excel.

Please write and turn in the 35 new vocabulary terms on Excel functions posted this morning. They are due at the end of the hour. After turning those in, study vocabulary on Quizlet. 

If you are out of the room for part of the hour for pictures, turn in the portion you have completed at the end of the hour. Grades will be adjusted accordingly. No allowances will be made for talking instead of working in class.
